Along the way stop at Lake Afdera, a beautiful saline lake surrounded by volcanic terrain, where lunch and a short rest break are arranged. Continue deeper into the Danakil Depression toward Hamed Ela, a remote desert settlement that serves as a base for exploration of the salt flats.
